Have Your Cake and Eat It Too!
I love my work more than words can say.
I call what I do my life’s work, because that’s exactly what it is.
What I’m able to share with other women today is 32 years in the making…
Growing up I was a chubby kid, and by 8 years old I was crying to my Mom at night that I was “fat.”
This was the start of a long, painful journey through poor body image, endless yo-yo dieting, and ultimately losing and gaining the same pounds over and over and over again.
I was a slave to diet culture for over 2 decades- and I was convinced if only I could “stay disciplined” and have “enough willpower” to reach my goal weight and stay there- then, THEN life would be great and I’d finally feel confident, happy and worthy.
Well that never happened for me- not from a DIET!
Because diets are pure garbage. Um hello, they have a 95% failure rate… and very often, dieters gain back more weight than where they started.
Which means: the most probable outcome of a diet is to actually gain weight.
What the hell.
And what’s worse? WE feel like the failure. With every failed diet our self-esteem gets eroded. Frustration. Shame. Guilt.
I know this whole vicious cycle way too well, because that was my life for over 20 years.
So many precious days were spent consumed with obsessive thoughts about what I was eating… counting, tracking, rules, meal plans, lists of foods that were “good” and foods that were “off limits.” UGH.
And all those miserable hours on a treadmill spent hating my body, hoping THIS cardio workout would do the trick and melt all my fat off.
It hurts me to look back at all of this. Because I know I’m not alone in this… and, (here’s the good news) it doesn’t have to be this way!
PSA: THERE IS A BETTER WAY. I PROMISE. I’VE BEEN LIVING IT FOR A FEW YEARS NOW AND BABES, ITS FREAKING MAGICAL.
I’ve learned SO much, and these days I feel awesome in my body while still enjoying life to the fullest!!
I eat and drink literally whatever I want, and easily maintain where I want to be.
I no longer fluctuate up & down 15, 20, 30 pounds.
I no longer count or track anything regarding food.
These days, I am literally having my cake and eating it too! (With a side of Prosecco, thank you v. much.)
It is SO very possible! 🍰
And babes, if I got here, after a tumultuous relationship with food since childhood, I promise you can get here too.
I’m not saying it’ll be overnight. It is a process.
